You and your group can enjoy the comfort that surrounds you as you enter and explore the beauty of this lovingly restored home. Four original Rumford fireplaces, wide plank flooring, the claw-foot bathtub, decorative cookstove, and exposed stone walls are just a sampling of what our retreat has to offer from the 1830’s.
For the Quilters and Crafters, you will certainly enjoy the post and beam “Grand Room” offering generous natural lighting, beautiful handcrafted sewing tables, ergonomic chairs, and a comfy living space for relaxing between projects.
The Screened In Porch off of the kitchen is a heavenly space to sit, sip, and sample your culinary creations. With a dining table and seating for eight, the porch also has night lighting to continue to enjoy the warm summer evenings after dark.
Off of the Grand Room, the Back Porch allows for a beautiful spot to watch the sunrise through the trees. Here, you can relax in one of the Muskoka chairs, listen to the ducks, and maybe even spot some deer in the adjacent field.
Each bedroom is lovingly prepared with a quilt on each bed, shelving or dressers to unpack in, along with nightlights and ample space for each individual to comfortably unwind.
Linens and towels are all provided. Check out the blue "Detailed Amenities List" button on our Amenities page for a full listing.

Painted Quilt Blocks
You may be wondering about the painted quilt block on the front porch!
Each Spring, there will be a new quilt block featured on the porch. So each time you visit, you can take a new photo with a different block to remember your times at Fireside!
For Fireside's first year, I chose the timeless block “Amish Star” mainly because of its simplistic beauty and history which I thought reflected our century home quite wonderfully.
I encourage all of you to take a picture or two with the painted quilt blocks!
